Superpowers turns the agent's work into a fixed routine. It starts by asking what you actually want and plays the design back to you. Then it writes a detailed plan, builds it one task at a time with a check for each, and reviews each piece before moving on.
It's the most complete routine on this page, and the strictest: once installed, its skills switch on by themselves at the start of every session.
Before you install
- It changes how the agent behaves in every session, not only when you ask for it.
- The project's own page lists install steps for about 15 tools, including Codex.
Install it
The commands below are for AI coding tools like Claude Code, which work with files on your computer. They won't do anything typed into a ChatGPT or Claude chat in your browser. Don't have a coding tool yet? Install Claude Code first.
Use the box for the tool you have, and copy its commands. Lines that start with / go in the tool's chat box. Other lines go in Terminal, the app where you type commands to your computer. A plugin is a bundle of skills made for one tool, and a marketplace is the list the tool installs it from.

- brainstormingAsks what you actually want, then plays the design back for your approval before any code is written. It starts by itself when you begin something new.
- writing-plansTurns an approved design into small tasks, each with the files to change and how to check it worked.
- subagent-driven-developmentHands each task of the plan to a fresh helper agent and reviews its work before moving on, so long runs don't drift.
- systematic-debuggingMakes the agent find the cause of a failure before proposing a fix, instead of guessing.
All 15 skills are listed in the pack's source. Checked by hand; see how we pick packs.
