Do the one-time basics, pick a project you actually want, and build it. Here's the order.

New here? Read What is vibe coding first. It takes five minutes and explains the idea in plain English.

This page is the map. It doesn't teach anything by itself. It tells you what to do and in what order.

Step 1: Do the basics

These are one-time setups. Do them once, in order, and you're ready for every project on this site.

  1. Get your computer ready. Free tools your AI helper needs. About 10 minutes.
  2. Save your work (GitHub). A free backup with an undo button. About 10 minutes.
  3. Your AI coding helper. Install Claude Code and try it. About 15 minutes. Needs a paid Claude plan (Pro is fine).

In a hurry? Some guides, like cleaning up a spreadsheet, only need steps 1 and 3, so you can skip GitHub for now and come back to it later.

Everything else, like putting a project on the internet or using API keys, you'll learn inside the project that needs it.

Step 2: Pick what you want to build

Start with a real thing you want. It's much easier to learn the tools when they're building something you care about. There are two kinds:

  • Solve a real problem: small, practical guides for things you actually deal with, like cleaning up a messy spreadsheet or writing your weekly work report automatically. Each comes with the finished code to copy.
  • Projects: a new one every week. Fun, real things you build and put on the internet: a party game, generators, calculators, small AI tools. Each has a video and a live version you can try first.

Not sure? Pick whichever made you think "I'd use that."

Step 3: Build it

Open the guide and follow it from the top. Every guide has a video you can follow along with.

Step 4: Keep going

After your first project, AI engineering is where you get better at running your AI helper: describing work clearly, teaching it your project, connecting it to your apps, and eventually having an agent that works while you sleep.

Stuck on a step? The "if this goes wrong" boxes on each page cover the problems people hit most. If yours isn't there, tell me on X and I'll add it.
