command not found: grok

New terminal. On a Mac, ~/.zprofile should contain the PATH line from the installer (~/.grok/bin). On Windows, sign out or reboot once if PATH did not refresh.

It asks for XAI_API_KEY and I have SuperGrok

Use the browser login first. The API key is a separate bill. If you already minted one, put it in .env as XAI_API_KEY= and tell the agent the **name** only.

Native installer first. Confirm grok --version, then log in in the browser.

Use the native installer. Skip npm i -g @xai-official/grok unless the script fails.

Close Terminal, open it again:

Log in

From any folder:

A browser window opens. Approve it. That is the subscription login.

Headless or CI: XAI_API_KEY in .env, never in chat. Mint it at console.x.ai if you need it. Do not prefix it NEXT_PUBLIC_.

Update later with grok update.
